Structural Shape and Plate Steel Descalers
Plates or structural shapes are fed through the descaler on conveyor or an overhead monorail and completely cleaned in one pass by four blast wheels throwing abrasive from the top, bottom and sides.

Standard Structural Shape and Plate Steel Descaler Models
  • Model 4211 - 12" x 12" Economy Descaler
    Material moved on a roll conveyor past 2 shot blast wheels which provide a brush blast in one pass. For a more thorough blast cleaning, turn the part over and blast again.
  • Model 4411 - 12" x 12" Production Descaler
    Material moved on a roll conveyor past 4 shot blast wheels. Designed to clean small structural components in one pass.
  • Model 4423 - 24" x 36" Descaler
    Material moved on a roll conveyor past 4 shot blast wheels to clean up to 36" wide flange beams.
  • Model 4453 - 5' x 36" Plate and Structural Descaler
    Material moved on a roll conveyor past 4 shot blast wheels to clean plate and sheet steel up to 5' wide and structurals up to 36" wide flange beams.
  • Model 4463 - 6' x 36" Plate and Structural Descaler
    Material moved on a roll conveyor past 4 shot blast wheels to clean plate and sheet steel up to 6' wide and structurals up to 36" wide flange beams.
Post Fabrication Descalers
With a taller, narrower work opening and more blast wheels, the post fabrication descalers throw abrasive from forward and backward angled blast wheels. This orientation of blast wheels cleans the leading and trailing ends of fabrications as well as any attachments protruding from the sides of the beam. Standard machines process parts up to four feet wide and eight feet tall. The MetFin designers would be happy to work with your specifications to design and build larger descalers to fit your needs.

    Materials moved on a roll conveyor past 4 angled shot blast wheels which provide a brush blast in one pass. Turn part over and blast again for a thorough blast.
  • Model 4834 - 36" x 48" Post Fabrication Descaler
    Material moved on a roll conveyor past 8 shot blast wheels (4 angled forward, 4 angled backward) to provide complete coverage of all components in one pass.
  • Model 4934 - 36" x 48" Monorail Descaler
    Material moved on an overhead monorail past 8 shot blast wheels (4 angled forward, 4 angled backward) to provide complete coverage of all components in one pass.
  • Model 4846 - 48" x 72" Post Fabrication Descaler
    Material moved on a roll conveyor past 8 shot blast wheels (4 angled forward, 4 angled backward) to provide complete coverage of all components in one pass.
  • Model 4946 - 48" x 72" Monorail Descaler
    Material moved on an overhead monorail past 8 shot blast wheels (4 angled forward, 4 angled backward) to provide complete coverage of all components in one pass.
Skew Roll Descalers
For blast cleaning long, round products, the skew roll descaler flows parts through the blast chamber while rotating the part. One and two wheel versions are built to blast various pipe or bar diameters at line speeds up to 150 feet per minute.
